OUR TREATMENT

VenaCure EVLT

Endovenouus Laser Treatment (EVLT) procedure is a treatment alternative to surgical stripping of the diseased veins of the leg that cause varicose veins. A laser fiber is inserted through a small incision under ultrasound-guidance into the diseased vein. Laser energy is delivered to seal the faulty vein, thereby eliminating the vein and its accompanying reflux. EVLT is performed using local anesthesia in our office.

Because treatment with VenaCure EVLT is minimally invasive and is catheter-based, it results in little to no scarring.  Compression hosiery supplements the treatment.

Ambulatory Microphlebectomy

Ambulatory Phlebectomy is removal of surface varicose veins through minor surgery, in the office using local anesthesia.  Phlebectomy is often combined with an operative procedure; especially VenaCure EVLT or VNUS closure.

Incisions are small and cosmetic. Compression hosiery supplements the treatment.

Injection Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy can be used to treat both varicose and spider veins. A tiny needle is used to inject the veins with a medication that irritates the lining of the vein. In response, the veins collapse, are reabsorbed, and no longer visible. Multiple sessions may be required. Compression hosiery supplements the treatment.

Ultrasound-Guided Sclerotherapy

with non-pysician compounded foam called Varithena

This is an in-office treatment in which veins are injected with a nonphysician compounded sclerosing foam under ultrasound guidance. During this procedure, the doctor uses an ultrasound screen to visually monitor the vein being treated.  This is an additional therapy used for treatment of veins of the Greater Saphenous vein system including tortuous veins and veins previously treated with other methods.
